79 350 2 bolt main block mild to medium build?

I recently acquired a 72 AMC Javelin SST rolling chassis. The car has a Chris Alston front half and cage that is NHRA certified to 8.5 sec's. This car was set up with Chevy power and turbo 400 trans and ran 10.5's in the 1/4. Since I don't plan to ever run it that fast I did get my hands on a 79 350 two bolt main motor that's not in bad shape. The motor is complete but I'm scrapping the heads for summit racing cast replacement heads and a Edelbrock RPM Airgap intake and plan to do a mild to medium build. Anyone ever have trouble boring out this year block due to its thinner casting? What is the limit you would push this motor to for street crusing and some strip racing? looking to keep it under 6000 RPM.

The only way to be sure is to have it sonic tested.
Under 6000 is pretty low for a SB Chevy, especially if you have
a decent cam and heads. You will not get your best ET running that
way. Guys were spinning the old 265-283s over 7000 back in the 50s
with stock rods, crank and pistons. Chevrolet did not foresee their
little masterpiece becoming the foremost racing engine of all time
when they originally built it.
The engine held together but the flywheel did not, resulting in
some bad flywheel explosions. There is no problem with that running
an automatic however.
I ran my 632s over 7500 at times with top notch parts and 1000 lb open valve
springs.

would not bore more than .040" providing sonic test is good as suggested above.

have the crank race ground.

but an ATI crank damper.

buy some afr 180 heads.

cam size around a comp xe268h or xe274h.

you can build at least 320 hp safely.

What He Said, That Mild You can even talk about Gas Milage. But If it were Mine I would find a 401Amc Engine, Jus 'cause.
