1st one is the headlights will not pop up, what could be the problem?
2- The brake light is on in the dash, when i popped the hood to check the vacuum for the master i noticed that there is many different vacuum lines ran to the bigger vacuum in the carb. Do you think it could not be drawing enough vacuum? lastly the car sounds like it has a cam and intake put on it with a crappy carb, what would you recommend for a carb? but i want a carb that will be able to vacuum everything that is needed. If anyone has tires sizes and what the original rim center caps were for that year. if anyone has any diagrams or suggestions for routing the vacuum lines and where they properly run to.

may be the carb just needs a rebuild!, what carb is it? the brake light being on usually means the e- brake is on[the switch could have a problem] or you could have a hydraulic system problem [be fore warned that earlier vettes have caliper/piston corrosion problems] you just might need a NEW master cylinder and stainless sleeved rebuilt calipers ALL AROUND! stainless steel brake corp. sells them exchange. the head lights use a motor to open and close, you might have a blown fuse, a bad switch and or wiring, a toated motor, or broken linkage parts... good luck with your project, and check back in with US if you need any more help!

79 C3 have pop up headlights that are vacuum operated.  could be a single item that is causing the failure.. or could be several items..

there are several articles on this out on the web and a few in the pair of corvette magazines here on the site.. vetteweb and corvettefever

2nd.. brake warning light.. yep.. parking brake lever switch..  or a failure on one side of the hydraulic brake system that has left the safety valve shuttle off center..

must inspect the brake calipers and the master... even the safety valve and hose for leaks..

here is one on just the parking brakes...

http://www.vetteweb.com/tech/vemp_0401_c3_corvette_parking_brake/viewall.html

here is another that covers some of the caliper issues..

http://www.corvettefever.com/howto/25438/

there are a bunch of more articles in those magazines on this site..

as for the carb.. there are all kinds of ways to go..

how about some photos of what you have.. post them to photobucket and then the links here..
