My "new" 77 Nova has stuff on it my '72 caddy never had.

Are there things I can remove off of it, because the car came from California,
to get it to become "lighter"?

Depends on what emissions laws are like in your area. Even if you don't have to worry about emissions testing, removing the A.I.R. pump, valves, hoses, and tubes into the exhaust manifolds won't loose enough weight to notice.

The real weight savings comes from things like aluminum heads, intake, water pump, and headers instead of the factory cast items.
