i have a 1983 parisienne and i wanted to get a two new back tires for it, i had 225/70R15s on the front and got 235/60R15s for the back but there smaller so i figured the 295s will give it a better stance so im putting the 235s on front and the 295s on the back. does any one know if they will fit? i have the 80 style monte carlo ss rims on it

I doubt they will. 295/50s may not be any taller than the 235/60s.
Put one of the 235s on the back. With the car at ride height measuer the distance from the back of the tire to the wheel house, then from the front of the tire to the fender opening lip. Your tire dealer should be able to tell you how wide the other tires are. Use that information to determine if they'll fit on your application.
I've got 275/60/15s on the back of my 88 Caprice but the only way they fit was with a 3.75" backspace wheel.

This formula may help some.
tire diameter (or overall height) = [2x(section width/25.4)x(aspect ratio/100)]+ rim diameter
[2x(295/25.4)x(50/100)]+15 >> 2 x 11.6141 x .5 + 15 >> 11.6141 + 15 >> 26.6141" tire height
[2x(235/25.4)x(60/100)+15 >> 2 x 9.252 x .6 + 15 >> 11.102 + 15 >> 26.102" tire height
You'll have 1/2" taller tire on back than on the front, if you can fit 295 section width tire in there.

This link is to an online conversion site. It'll help translate section width, given in millimeters, to inches.

the answer is no you will be eating the tread with the fender lip. that width tire wants a 9-10 in. wide rim but you have Loud glass packs so you may as well go the rest of the 70's look and Jack it up about a foot in the back.what do you want a wide tire or a tall tire.having a rim with Just the right Back space will allow a bit wider tire but over a 235 60 15 is going to push the space limits
