Have a 1967 early bb with the large style oil filter. Wanting to change over to a oil filter system that can be mounted in a place more accessible for oil change out due to having to drop the header to get access to oil filter at this time. Please let me knoe where to get some info on this upgrade.

Look at Jegs site for "single oil filter relocation kit". Trans dapt seems to have a selection.

Thought I was going to jump in with the answer and make you happy....but the article I was going to refer you to did not give the Fix only the Fact that the Spin on oil filter came out in 68-9. what i was going to recommend was getting a remote filter set up from a 2000's Impala and adapting that but you still have the Recessed area where the O-ring was for your Canister style oil filter. you MAY be able to use the Leak prone O-ring and then adapt a sleeve into the Canister bolt hole to mount the remote oil filter. now if a regular Spin on Oil filter will work space wise Tuffnuff is our resident BB guru and 68Scott may know the answer too so I will get off and let them answer. good luck with your Hot Rod

Bob is another that may remember but he dosn't sleep much at nite so I figured he was sleeping but should be awake by now, how 'bout it Pepsi1. the threaded part that the Spin-on fits to is removeable and May fit your block so that only leaves the Groove that the O-ring fits to deal with.**************************************** GOOGLE is your friend. I just asked .......replace canister to spin on filter,, and there are several adapters cheap..

I used to use the remote filter for drag racing. It sandwiched a micron filter between 2 parts and it worked well for racing. I don't think it would be a great idea for a street car though. Here is a picture of it on the car: It is located at the upper right side mounted on the firewall:

Dave: Put the pictures away. You know what happens to old gear heads when their wheels start spinning....

Thanks John.
spayo67 Welcome to CHP:
If your just talking about getting rid of the old canisiter type oil filter.
Jegs has the kit. P/N 720-1270 $11.90. Then your problems are gone. You will have a spin in filter. You will be able to fill the filter will almost a quart of oil...Then you have the remote filters. Tuff showed them..Hope this helps...If not. let us know. There maybe nother way to plumb your oil filter...

Sorry Bob, I have to look at the pictures at times to remind myself what it looked like my memory being what it is.
