Those headers will bolt to the block but the question is what frame/body do they fit. Most manufacturers use a one-piece flange to help keep the tubes rigid. The tubes are all rigid mounted in the collector, a one-piece flange keeps the individual tubes from being bent.

Am I the only one having trouble with this site this weekend?

Doesn't want to load, I sign in, select a thread, and then it signs me out as it's opening the thread.

Then a double post that didn't happen like they usually do.

i agree with Scott.    how do you know they will fit your car?    id just order a specific-fit set for your car from summit or jegs.    your only looking at another $25-50.oo to get the correct set, brand new.

   headers leaking,.....
the first thing i do is check the mounting flange for flatness.   its not uncommon to find welding splatter or imperfections on the flanges,...especially with cheaper headers.   i use a file or a sanding disk on a grinder to get rid of imperfections.    i usually throw away the cheap paper gaskets that come with them, and buy some metal gaskets.   the paper gaskets always burn out and leak for me.    after you install them and run the motor, its a good idea to re-tighten them a few times to make sure the gaskets seat good.   this is just my experience.

these are the type of gaskets i like to use.   you can start all the bolts, then just drop the gaskets in.

Look for headers for the same year Caprice, they should fit.

So whats my best set for not leaking or are they all the same? And does a set of headers really make it work any better? I know it will help the flow of exaust but how much power will i gain is it worth it?

Really it is a combo of carb/intake /exhaust/ muffler that yields a performance gain. starting at the back and going Forward. Pretend your Nose is the Muffler, now Squeeze it down and blow through, the more you let go the better you can breath! an enexpensive 2.5" turbo is fine but won't have that FlowMaster Sound.

In my experience with several sets of headers from various manufacturers, they are all about the same as far as keeping them from leaking at the head/header flange. Collector connections vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. I've had a couple different collector connection types and have found that I had to experiment with a few different methods to keep them from leaking.

Headers by themselves may yield 5hp, depending on the restrictions in the rest of the system. Headers will help the exhaust flow freely into the rest of the exhaust system, they are the first step to relieving the exhaust air flow.

All the changes made to make a motor breath IN more air also require some changes to help the motor breath OUT all that air.

i already have dual glass packs on backwards and ok, what would be a good carb on a different subject, all i have right now is my stock 305 one, the motor is a 92 350 tbi bored 20 over, as far as i know everything else is stock

What is the stock carb from the 305? A QuadraJet? What are the numbers on the left side secondary bore? Should be something like 17083, then either 1 or 2, then either 6 or 7, and then another number for a total of an eight digit number. There will be four numbers under that in the same font style, that is the Julian date of manufacture.

Otherwise, a 600 or 650 vacuum secondary will do the job.

Nothing like the Sound of Thrush Glasspacks, I never Knowinly installed them Backwards, what may I ask does that do. I do know the Neighbors were NOT fond of them as the Cops came by to tell me what they thought.
