hi i have a few questions about the engine swop on my 83 parisienne. im putting a 1992 350 in it and it has no alternator, water pump or stuff like that and i was just wondering if i could change everything over from my 305 to the 350? i know i need a electronic fuel pump and a new intake for my carb. what else do i need? maybe a distributor?

which 350 from a 92 did you get..
a TBI 350 ...???? throttle body injected..
there might have been a TUNED port injected motor in 1992 also.. TPI...
or one of i think they were available in 92.. LT1.. with the distributer behind the water pump and the coil on the front drivers side head...

.. X2... three different possible sets of problems to contend with depending on which engine...
.. TPI 350 go in the easiest, especially if aluminum heads (Corvette)...
.. TBI 350 needs swirl port ramps that block the head ports cut out...
.. LT1 350 (Corvette) has reverse water flow and problems mentioned above...

The torque convertor will bolt up to either flexplate, the real question is will the flexplates interchange. As mentioned somewhere, if one motor is a two-piece rear seal design and the other motor is a one-piece rear seal design, then the flexplates will not interchange.
The accessories from one motor should bolt to the other. The easiest way to do it is to pull the motor out of the car, put the new motor next to it, pull the stuff from one and put it on the other.

if it has bolts around the outside of the valve covers its probably a 2 piece rear main seal...
if it has center bolt valve covers... where the valve cover bolts run down the middle of the valve cover ... its probably a one piece rear main seal block..

.. '83 should be 2 prms and big bolt pattern flexplate... '86 and after were 1prms and smaller bolt pattern flexplate... as a general rule, always use the flywheel/flexplate that came on an engine to avoid balance/unbalance problems...
.. The '92 block doesn't have a spot for the fuel pump?

Use the Flex plate for the One piece seal crank (later model)They are not Expensive and cheaper still used. not an Issue.
