been making some changes to the camaro and wondered what you guys thought? i was really tired of the look of the weird bumpercover.
 so off it came.
picked up a used bumpercover and 2 fenders in nice shape for $50.oo. so, on they went.

at some point i decided i wanted to change the color of the car. it needs some bodywork. the stripes are peeling up and im gonna have to pull the ground effects to sand them off. rather then have a car different colors, i rattled it flat black. easy to touch up as i go around it over time, sanding, doing repairs, etc.

made a cold-air pan prototype for the cowl hood. ill be copying this, & tig up a nice one down the road.

found that i can switch from a 14x3 filter to a 14x4. maybe add one of those extreme lids?

Joe the Cold air box looks Great and a larger filter and a top is good for a couple HP from what I read. I like the Strut Bar a lot too.

thanx for the compliments guys. i need to come up with some kinda seal for the top edge of the airpan like this piece of pipe insulation. maybe a door seal from a junkyard or something?
one flaw to this design is not being able to access the transmission dipstick without removing the airpan. another issue was, i had to remove the 2 struts from the strut tower brace. they were in the way. gonna have to re-fab them & change the attachment points in the back. this is an older pic to show the struts.
the main part of the brace was part of a seat from a furd mini-van. i already had to cut it and rotate it once, after i got rid of the TPI because the carb was in the way.

That's one of the cleanest motors I have ever seen in an iroc. Very nice!

Hell yea its lookin better already! I can dig it, Joe. Good move
Remember to wipe the bomb off and spray it for real, eventually!
I'd worry less about having the airbox, although that does look cool. Just the cowl opening should be plenty for intake especially if you get a filtered lid. I think the best part is how it lets heat out of the engine room in the summer, but with the box you lose that. She does look clean in there, not fancy just well-kept and hot roddish! Keep on, dude!

Clean look. The paint color is one of my favorites, you can get it by the gallon hot rod satin black. It is an actual paint primer allows water to penatrate with time, where the other is perminant but easy to sand rough it up and bodywork can be done on top.
