I have a '91 j body 4 cyl k engine that I just changed the water pump on. Now I have a discerning issue, after lining up my timing marks and putting on my belt it won't start and sounds as if I have no compression. The valves shouldn't be bent because I made sure they were closed before messing with anything...unless I did something far worse than I imagined. So could my timing possibly be 180 out to cause a loss of compression, I tried adjusting it 360 but it didn't change making me thing it is 180 out having my valves open when I'm on the compression and intake stroke. Luckily for me I'm pretty sure these engines have enough tolerance to avoid bent valves and I at no point in time heard anything that may have suggested hitting valves.

Got it going good, I lined up the key instead of the mark on the pulley accidentally
