I am wanting to know the exact year my engine was built. I looked up the casting number 10054727 and the site I was using said it was an 86 and up cast. So then I looked up the number underneath the alternator K0717UKA and it said it was a 1981. Which number is correct and what year was the engine actually made? A local mechanic told me it was a vortec engine but he wasnt sure what year.

Does it have a one piece rear main seal or a 2 piece rear main seal?

is there a casting date on it?
bellhousing, on the right side, IIRC
