Going to build my own front crossmember for my 68 camaro. Putting 18x10 with a 5 in backspace. Can any one help me with the hub width i would need. I do not want any tire rub. So im going to move frame rails in and shorten the width of the cross member. I think if i have a hub width and control arms widths it would give me a better starting point.

i have a better idea.... but it might not work... why not go to custom control arms that move the spindle outwards.. and then use a deeper offset wheel..
if you notice the there is little room for the exhaust and steering box on the inside of the drivers side frame rail.... going to a hub and bearing assembly will also help..
perhaps going for Y shaped control arms... so you have the spread of the Y for the bushings and the narrow part to the ball joint...
if you are going to keep the stock type steering box.. you might want to talk to steering box rebuilders... about changing the internal stops to limit the angle the pitman car can rotate in either direction... this is better than stops on the control arms... as the power steering box can overpower them and bend things..

a 10 wide rim is standard fare on oval track racers and there are a ton of people making stuff for You.Two that can be acsessed easely are circle track magizine and then Stock Car raceing Magizine, you are getten up there with 18 wheels and might get better performance with lower profile tires and wheels.
