Any suggestions on narrowing down the issue(s) when the engine sputters for a brief second when you get on it and try a hard acceleration?

Eddy AFB carb says it all
the 750 comes out of the box with the pump rod at the richest setting
change orange 5inhg step up spring to the (forget color) 3inhg step up spring
change the pump nozzles from the factory 28s to the larger 42s
if these changes don't fix the problem then it's time to start changing rod/jet combos

Bigdee2:
Set your base timing at 10*to12*.
Then set your total timing at 32*, and have it all in at 2500 RPM. See it that helps. If you set more base timing then set it.
See if that helps that stumble out of it.

I'm still running original (rebuilt) distributor in my L48 350. Mine will do that when the points start going away. New set is fairly cheap, so I throw another set in there apx. once a year. Motor is now in my '70 C10 w/240K on it. Still runs like a bat outta hell!

Hi there, If you have points and you want to fine tune the motor then set No 1 piston @ TDC and turn a mobile radio on full BETWEEN stations and turn loose but firm dizzy so that you hear a steady crescendo of sound building up to the a loud whack..lock it up and send it home. there you have it....Skyeking..
