I have a open crankcase vented 283 that I'm having bored 30 over. would like some imput on specs. pistons , heads which if I use original need new valve seats put in, cam, want a driver the car is a 1956 olds super88 holiday coupe THANKS

Hi there,
  Keep the comp at about 9.1 /1 with 25/1000" deck height.
  Valve seats for U/L fuel on iron heads.yes.
  Pocket port and bowel  work on std heads is responsive enough.
  Fit HEI and set at 8*/36* total with cam 214/224*..
  Factory favourite for 20 years.
  Trim heads 10/1000".
   570 Holley will do enough for this combo.  Good luck
