My kickdown cable is not adjusted properly and i have no idea of how to adjust it.  I know that is done under the hood with the throttle cable but i'm not sure how to adjust it.  It's kicking down way too soon.  can anyone post pics or give me step by step instructions on how to adjust it properly?  it works fine at high speeds but at low speeds it kicks down way too soon.  it doesn't give the engine a change to gain speed and change on its own without the kick down jumping in.

The design kinda varies depending on the car. Pretty much theres a button on the cable housing at the carb bracket end that you push, then floor the pedal and it adjusts itself. The rule of thumb I use on mine is that the throttle and kickdown cables should reach their fully extended positions at the same time.

If you need it to downshift later, create more slack in the cable  Smile

It's real simple to adjust the cable.,. lift UP on the lock sleeve (top of pic) open the throttle all the way.,. push sleeve down to lock.,. let go of throttle.,. done.
Piece of cake.
