I am in the process of replacing the headers on a '99 Suburban w/7.4 and the secondary air injection pipes or hoses are siezed to the point they are now junk. problem is one of the three is n.l.a. my questions are: 1. any idea where I can find replacements, in particular GM#10242490/Delco #219-180? 2. can I use an aftermarket or custom made s.s. flex pipe/hose and if so what is the temp they would need to be able to handle(each side has one line attached to the header about 3" from the head and the driver side has a large hose the attaches to the collector area)? 3. can I bypass or plug the system without any major issues?

i guess gm could get you a new one, or hit the boneyard. do you have emission tests where you live?

thanks for the reply. GM doesn't make that part anymore. they make one side but not the other. makes no sense. no we do not have emission tests out here. I assume if I plug it I will get a "check engine" code which is ok except if a real issue comes up I won't know because the check engine light will already be on. I thought about the boneyard but if mine are siezed in I would assume something in a junk yard will be to. Thanks again for the reply.

yep... you could block it off... but.. if the check engine light comes on .. the ecm will back off on the fuel and power settings... reducing your MPG even more...

question... are just the ends torn up????/
can you get the tube nuts off.... there are tube benders who can bend stuff like that...
you could always .. get some tube sections from another model... perhaps weld the extended tubes on... so you could get the part reinstalled...
there is very little pressure in that tube.. but it can get really hot...
can you measure the thread diameter of the tube nuts.. perhaps if you have a thread pitch gauge... tube diameter.. also...
some tractor repair shops have the flaring tools to make new tubes for hydraulic sae inverted flares.. and the ability to bend..
the fitting it seems to screw into seems to spec out like this..
217 12552889 CK2, 3(L29) FITTING,INT MANIF VAC (1 1/16-12 / 1 3/16-12) (3.609)

218 10242489 CK2(06-16)(L29, K19) PIPE,SECD AIR INJN(RUBBER AND METAL)(ACDelco #219-179) L
218 10242489 CK2, 3(03-43-53)(L29, K19) PIPE,SECD AIR INJN(RUBBER AND METAL)(ACDelco #219-179) L
218 10242490 CK2(06-16)(L29, K19) PIPE,SECD AIR INJN(ACDelco #219-180) R
218 10242490 CK2, 3(03-43-53)(L29, K19) PIPE,SECD AIR INJN(ACDelco #219-180) R
the lower numbers seem to be for the passenger side...
i wonder... if you could buy the side thats available.. cut and splice... using copper sweat fittings and silver solder...
i have used this exact one on many repair jobs... under 10 bucks... super strong..

these are just ideas....
