Are there any fairly easy and cheap upgrades to gain some power on this 200HP engine with a a throttle body induction? I already have a cold air induction system and a throttle body spacer installed.

Maybe stick a cam in it. What rear gear are you pulling. Sometime just a rear gear change will wake them up.

what info do you need.
motor mount info...
fuel pump issues as vortec fuel injection requires high pressure.. over 56 psi... so you are going to need an INTANK fuel pump.. not impossible.. you will also need a return line fitting to the tank.. also not impossible..
electrical hook up...??? you will need to do some wiring.... change the ignition switch in the dash to a 75 chevy van unit... and the pigtail connector..
you will want a proper wiring diagram for the truck.. and for the actual year of the vortec motor..
if your donor motor comes from a 1996 or 1997... its going to be easier than 1998 up fuel injection systems do to the anti theft system.. it can be programmed out by specialists..
i don't know. as i have not looked.. but there might be a carb type intake manifold.. and conventional HEI distributer.. edit.. i looked one i found an edelbrock 2111..
there are a few magazines on this site that might have already done an article on the vortec installation..
lastly... one will want to carefully remove the OBD2 wiring connector from the donor truck... as you will really need if you want vortec.. to be able to use a scan tool...
lastly.. with the manual transmission makes it easier on the electronics site... only issue is..
the speed sensor from the transmission uses pulses.. a reluctor on the output shaft. instead of plastic gears spinning parts... so there is nothing to spin your speedometer cable.. there are ways around this. but the Vortec NEEDS the speed sensor signal..
there are tachograph drives from BIG RIGS that can spin the speedometer cable in proportion to the speed sensor signal..
