i built a 383 and i was wondering my self what the power would be on it, i used performer rpm heads 70cc. a summit 1107 cam, specs are 488 510 lift 234 244 dur. eagle balanced bottom end with -12cc pistons. performer intake and a jet stage two q-jet.full tube headers roller tip rockers. now i think it is over 400 hp because my dad has a 70 vette with a 396 with a bigger cam and better exhaust so its more then 425 hp and my boat is just as fast as his. could some one help out on this issue

That old grind of a cam is hurting power.
With what you have I would guess about 390HP

+1...Those are the same specs as the Eddy RPM cam...sounds good but leaves much power on the table...EX-perience with it in nearly indentical motor but on dry land Smile

Pman, if I may, look at the lunati Voodoo cams for better power numbers...find a free simulator and play with the numbers until you find something that will really put some smoke on the water Smile

Several folks have already pointed you in the right direction,,,LUNATI,,, VOODOO
There is more to cam selection than just numbers.
Forget EDDy's lame duck cams,,,

doy uo guys know any thing about crower cams. all i really hear about is comp or voodoo. because most of the cams from those two are on 110 centers. at crower there down to 106 centers and 108. i was readin that the tight they are the lower your power curve is in the rpm range. and help would be nice. thanks

For the stall, see what the cam calls for, it should be able to help the red light idle.
