Back then I was running an A/MP 57 Chevy with a 409/425 at Aquasco and Capital. I wish I still had that 409.

easterner,,,
I was running A/MP then too,,, 10.90 @ 129 L-88 67 Camaro @ 3400 feet above sea level,,, the altitude factor was 4/10ths so that would have been a 10.50 even @ sea level.
I had a Muncie 4 gear with 4.88 out back c/w Weber Aluminum 12 pound Flywheel and M&H 10.50 Slicks
The year was 1968,,,

I was racing in 65 & 66. Mid 12's was the best I could do, Mincie 4 speed, 4.11 rear, 8" M&H cheaters. I'd rent a tow bar for the weekend and get somebody to tow me to the track in case something broke, most of the time I just drove it home, it was my only car at the time. Their weren't a lot of A/MP's at that time that I remember, more at Capital than at Aquasco I think. I remember a car called Cyanide, 53 Ford w/427. You may remember Mousey Brown, he had a 62 Chevy 409 that normally ran A/S, but I remember a Sunday at Aquasco that he was in the A/MP class and sent me home after the first round.

Junkman,,, you weren't even a grimace or a squint in your daddy's face or eyes yet.

easterner,,, I ran against a few Ford side oilers and also Hemi Cudas.
Competition was very fierce in the muscle car era,,, much more so than now.
