i have a 1995 2500 chevy suburban with a 7.4 454 v8 and was wondering if anybody had any tips to crank out more horsepower without breaking the bank

I would think one of the best for hp, it usually gets you better mileage too, is a complete free flowing exhaust system, full length headers and all the rest. Gains should be in the 15-30 hp range and it will sound better too.
Of course there are enough aftermarket parts for the BB chevy to fill a barn, so the sky is the limit if you have the cash.

What shape is that 454 in?
How many miles on your rig?
What state of tune is it in?
How much is affordable?
Are you able to do all the work yourself, short of machine shop stuff?
Last, but not least, is the truck your dayly driver or just your fun vehicle eg: 4 wheeler, hunting fishing rig etc.

(same guy my other account got messed up)
yeah i had a "Y" straight pipe and it pumped out alot more but i couldnt take how loud it was anymore so i put a flowmaster 40 series and a high flow cat.

yeah its a 454 cubic inch
it has around 165k miles
its it completely stock
i can do some of the work myself, but thats what i mean by not break the bank, you know just something that me and the boys could do on a saturday
its a daily driver

Low restriction intake and dual exhaust and headers will give you a good start

yeha i want true dual bullet mufflers with high flow cats and some kind of after market headers with an in take and a throttle body spacer

low restriction air filter or better yet a fresh air package you can fab with 4" dryer hose and parts from your local hardware store,,, almost gets you RAM AIR,,,, wow,,, go for it on the cheap

+1 on the headers this will give you alittle better low end grunt. thats a tank your tryin to push around.
