need to know more. headers and exhaust? any ignition mods? a stock 305 for 3rd gen trans am made 220 hp. If just a cam, intake and carb are the only mods you are only gaining 20-30 hp. what tranny and tires you using?

Never heard of it. i was just giving each mod a guestimate hp gain he'd get from just upgrading a cam. Didn't say anything about a stall conv so kinda figured it a smaller cam.

Need a lot more information on your entire setup, not just the engine.
What size tires?
Is this a gutted car or full interior or in between?
Rear end ratio? Open diff? Limited slip?
Stock springs or aftermarket? If aftermarket what kind, what's the spring rate, what's the height difference,. etc.

Engine is only one part of your equation. The weight of the car, suspension, rear ratio, and tires will play more into getting consistent times than a bad arse engine.

Wow i misread the t5 part lol.`I had a 78 camaro that i raced at an 1/8 mile track with air shocks. That car with those shocks hopped so bad i thought something was gonna break. hopped burning out and hopped at take off. Switched my shocks to 50/50 rears and 90/10's up front added traction bars and BFGoodrich drag radials and the car didn't even hop once. Burned out nice and smooth and launched great.

yeah i had air shocks on the back of my 72lemans to fit the 15x10 275 60s, and i had it hop so bad when i was doing a burnout that the fan shroud(spelling) jumped into the fan. i dont like the air shocks....but we do need to know more.
