will the small oil pan off 86 an newer 350 with one peace rear main seal fit on my old 350 block with 2 peace rear main seal     .need more room under my motor.

Oilpans are different. What type of issues are you having?

I dont think a 1 piece rear main pan will work with a 2 piece block. I know you can convert a 1 piece block to a 2 piece rear seal. but you still have to use a 1 piece rear main oil pan.

Correct, the later oil pan won't bolt ot the two-piece block.

Definitely different.
