Buildup of stock ’65 chevy 327/250hp with 10.5/1 compression. I am trying to get more hp/torque with a little lope that is completely streetable. Does this look like a correct combination?
Replace top end components as follows:
Edelbrock Performer Dual Plane intake manifold EDL 2101
Edelbrock Performer 600cfm manual choke EDL 1405
Edelbrock Performer Aluminum heads- intake chamber 64cc, intake port size 185cc, valve sizes 2.02/1.60 EDL 60909 (complete)
Cam & Lifter Kit – EDL 2102 Duration at 0.006" Lift: Intake: 278° Exhaust: 288° Duration at 0.050" Lift: Intake: 204° Exhaust: 214° Lift at Cam: Intake: 0.280" Exhaust: 0.295" Lift at Valve: Intake: 0.420" Exhaust: 0.442" Timing at 0.050" lift: Open Close Intake: 5° ATDC 29° ABDC Exhaust: 44° BBDC 10° BTDC Centerlines: Lobe Separation - 112° Intake Centerline - 107°
Performer-Link timing chain set EDL 7800

i would step up the cam alittle but not to much.maybe .477-.480(it will be streetable).everything looks good. i like the fastburn vortecs better for that low end torque.performers are good too though.get some good headers and stall converter

I would definitely use a different cam and possibly heads the edelbrock cams are junk there heads are ok.
I would recommend the following heads BRO-1021001 they are 200cc intake runners and have 64CC chambers or these SUM-162111 they have 200cc intake ports and 64cc chambers as well and a lunati voodoo cam&lifter kit P#LUN60102LK which has a .468/.489 lift.
Horsepower sells Engines and torque wins races.

The comp 270H cam should do everything you want it to.

Hi there, If you use the original and still available factory cam 221/221* .447"/.447". which was in the 365Hp motor then that will enough to give a happy result. I think that the early fuely heads were about 16o or so For best Saturday night driving you might advance this cam about 3 or 4 degrees and set timing at 14* static. A 600cfm carby of your choice will be enough. IF you have a manual gearbox a 600 D/P Holley sitting on top of a performer RPM will be all you need.. If you stick with the original plan which is a very good one you MIGHT put a set of 1.6 rockers on the inlets ONLY..My 2cts. All the best from skyeking

The cam you have picked is just the Performer for the 400. You will like Comp Cams xtreme 4x4 cams better.
