The only match I see for the 3914660 casting and the HM suffix is a 68' 327.

The 69' 350 with that casting would not have HM suffix.

Not sure how to tell, there were several variants of the 327 in '68 that ranged from 210hp in a Camaro to the L79 in the 'vette that was rated at 350hp.  There were also 250hp, 275hp and 325hp 327's in that year depending on the vehicle and options.

Does it still have the stock intake? 2 bbl or 4bbl? That would narrow it down.

Check the casting numbers on heads (pull rocker covers).  Check them both; not uncommon to see mismatched on older stuff of unknown history.

The hm suffix 327 from a 1968 impala with 250HP th-350 trans. 4brl carb. and hyd. cam.
Horsepower sells Engines and torque wins races.
