Two friends drinking beer..
One says: I got needle gauges that will go into your truck!, Its even got a tach on it! (find out its was out of his wrecked 94 chev)
me: awesoooome.. lets tear out these ugly roll over gauges and put em in!
over excited, I finally got those roll over gauges that i so greatly disliked and couldnt wait to stomp the crap out of em..
Guess what... The 94 had a exposed circut board. and my orginal has a female PIN cluster in the cavity. (the gauges it self had a male PIN) Called the chevy dealer and its like a 380$ OEM part. 5 junkyards didnt even have it.
after my mistake, needless to say, I kinda put drinking and driveway mechanics dont mix, Now i dont even have a cluster like an idiot.
Thankfully its not my daily driver and I am currently puting a 327 in it. (am I gonna need a special Tach for the Rev differences?)
I am thinking about buying a 5 gauge pod/cluster set. (4") cups. Any ideas? has anyone put a piece of steel and mounted these gauges in there like that? Kinda trying to get all the advice I can before my dad finds out.
damn it..

Just keep looking for a replacement. They are out there. Their is a digital dash panel from dakota digital but thats $600. Prolly out of the question. Another thing you could do is try using parts out of the wrecked truck to make the needle gauge panel work in your truck.

Now would be a good time to make a custom dash panel. I would make a sheetmetal dashpanel and just install the gauges in it.

I agree with gettn and jon. Either make a custom dash panel or keep searching the junkyards and the truck forums for the part you need.

I would rather do the custom dash myself and it'll prob be cheaper than buying stock pieces

True. He could probably grab a scrap piece of aluminum or stainless for cheap, cut it and bend it to fit rather easily since the 90 chevy trucks have a rectangular opening with a slight bend out towards the edges, and Summit/Jegs always have a package deal on gauges.
I might do that for my Burb!
