I have a saginaw 3 spd out of a 87 half ton 2wd that had a v-8 if you are close to iowa or wanna pay shipping. Worked great when i pulled the motor. Depending on what you use for rear gears u use, this would be a good trans unless you are looking for a 4-5 spd trans.

Check your local scrap yards for 80s or maybe even 90s Camaros and Firebirds that were equipped with a V8 and 5-speed manual. There were plenty of them made and usually come fairly cheap. You don't want the 5-speed from a V6 model. Some scrap yards (at least near my house) will a return policy if the trans is no good. Before you buy one, call around to a couple local trans shops to see how much it cost to have one rebuilt...just in case.
FYI...depending on what type of car you have, you may have to do some cutting on your trans tunnel to fit the larger casing of the 5-speed.

The 5-speeds that came with the V6 model Camaros and Firebirds won't hold up. The 5-speeds from the V8 models will hold the 400hp you're claiming. If you are closer to 500hp than 400 then I would be leary about using one. Any more power and I would probably consider spending the extra cash on a newer Tremec TKO-500 or Borg Warner T5.
