Hello, I am a newby to the forum, so i hope im putting this in the correct spot. I have a 99 z71, about 4 years ago i installed the bulldog remote starter and had to wire in the security bypass system. Since then @ random the security light comes on. About every few months i can get in the truck and it will crank and switch right back off. Ususlly i can let it set for a few hours and it will start like a new one. Might not have the problem for sevaral months then BOOM, walking again. Does ANYBODY know if this can be disabled? Could i cut the passlock wires? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As a GM tech for over 13 yrs I've removed many aftermarket remote starters, theft alarms and such as these things act up and do crazy things. But double check all splices as most people, no offense to your abilities, poorly splice in wires with those dumb blue wire splices. Instead cut and strip both ends of the wire you're tapping into and solder those wires with the wire you're adding to tap into that wire. But my bet is the remote starter is bad. The truck needs the passlock signal to start, it cannot be bypassed.
