how many teeth on the flywheel ring gear...   153 or 168... that denotes the 2 different sizes of flywheels for chevys..

the 168 tooth flywheel is just over 14 inches across..

got a casting number off the bell housing..

which transmission are you planning on using...

post the various info.. and someone may tell you what to ***

more than likely... you will just have to get a 153 tooth flywheel with 10.4 inch clutch.. and it will fit...    you should also install the starter on the block after you put the flywheel on... so you can verify that the gears will mesh... you might if you have a regular gm starter.. take the solenoid and return spring off... so you can push the gear out to easily measure it... with the trans out and the bell housing off..

read up on measuring and adjusting the starter pinion gear to the flywheel ring gear clearance..
