A friend of mine asked me this morning about putting a 2 speed powerglide out of a 65 biscayne and putting in his 78 monte. He also wants to run 4.56 rear gears. He runs 275/60/15 drag radials on the rear. He is a good friend and we hit the 1/8 , burnout contests, and car shows together quite often. He likes to keep his car streetable as well. Any suggestions would be great.

It really depends on your definition of "streetable" because anything with a 4.56:1 rear gear ratio is going to be spinning pretty high all the time, even though a relatively short tire does help some.

Thats what i was kinda thinking. I normally run 4.11 and she winds pretty high with a th350. He never drives the car farther than about 30 miles from his house though. Any further than that he trailers it.

If he doesnt drive any farther than that then the 4:56's wont be bad
