Okay I got the 94 Z28, its got the LT1 and as far as I know everything else is factory. Recently my car has stopped cooling itself completely. At first I had to stay moving to keep it under 180 degrees, the fans weren't working I found out. They had worked for a short time, but I found that a wire to the thermostat had been broken in two (this was a very cheap pick up with a previous owner)and when I reconnected them my fan stopped working. So I can only have the thermostat or the fans, with the thermostat wire still connected and the fans not working, I removed the connection to the Mass Airflow Sensor (don't remember why I did at this point)along with the engine running oddly without it the fan kicked on, but it stayed on. If anyone can tell me exactly what would cause this that'd be great. I'm no expert on this so any help is appreciated

When you disconnected the sensor the ecu went to "limp home" mode and turned on your cooling fans. The single wire sensor next to the thermostat is for your gauge only. The two wire sensor near it is for the ecu. The ecu will not turn on the fans until approx. 230 degrees. Hook everything back up and disconnect your battery for a minute to clear your codes. Once running, as long as your gauge is working and it doesn't go into the red your NOT overheating. Someone with a data read scan tool can verify your sensors are reading normally.
