I have a 72 chevelle that the stance in the front is sitting maybe an inch or so too low.I didnt think about it at the time but when i had no motor in it, it just sat normal not real high in the front like you usually see.do you guys think it just simply needs new shocks and springs up front.thanks for your opinions

What happens when you hit the brakes? Does the car nose dive under normal braking? How many miles are on the car? For something as old as a 72 it would be understandable that your suspension parts are worn out, especially if they are the oem parts.

If there the originals with 85k on them then they need to be swapped out. Had a pair go out at 75k so they might go out at anytime.

It's not so much the mileage but the age. The metal in the springs fatigue over time, and the shock seals dry rot.

On an older car I would change out the springs and the shocks, and if you have the time (and money) the suspension bushings as well.

Definitely a good idea. You will see a huge improvement in the way the car rides and handles. Are you gong to replace the bushings as well?

As long as your bushings are not oil soaked you can leave them for a later time.

Age takes it toll on suspension parts no doubt. I've seen the poly bushings just fall apart on cars that are just for show and rarely driven.

Yep, seen poly disintegrate after a few years. IT is always a good idea to not go cheap on suspension parts, especially bushings.
