Engine Replacement Year Range

I have a 97 Chevy Suburban with a 454 (Jcode) engine in it. I would like to look for a used engine to rebuild and replace this one at some point. I want one that will fit right in place just as the stock does. Is there a year range that I could look for that would fit the exact same (mounts, wire, ect.)? I find them on craigslist all the time but they seem to all be carbureted. Thanks...

They are pretty much all the same engine everything will fit. Cams and pistons will vary from model to model but a 454 from pretty much any year will go right in place (gotta love GM)
