a 302 will have a 3" crank stroke where a 327 will have 3.25"

if the engine is out ... a quick look at the back of the crank will tell you which one it is... the flanges are different between small journal motors...

i have forgotten which ones.. but i know somebody will fix this..

no notches out of the circle.

one notch out of the circle

two notches out of the circle flange..

here is the link to the large journal crank flange shapes..

here is what i am talking about...

3 inch stroke small journal has a round flange...     3 inch stroke 302 67 motor has one notch...

here is the 327 small journal with 2 notches

http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/chevy_327_small_block/photo_04.html

the large journal 327 cranks had sloping shoulders below the 2 notches like this

hope this helps..
