ok, so my chevelle's trunk is a big pain-in-the-ass to open so i had my bf come over and help me and he said the key was bent and that wasn't helping and he tried to bend it back and snapped the end off.... can i like take that to lowe's and have them make a copy with just the end or something???? if not, if anyone has advice i'd LOVE to hear it!!!!

yes... with a person who nows how to properly cut and ... and with both pieces... one can usually duplicate the key..
sometimes you have to take the lock out and peal the cover off the front to get it out...
new covers are available at most locksmiths...
new trunk locks are also available.. there are 2 different ones that are not interchangeable.. one trunk lock mounts on the trunk lid.... the other mounts on the rear panel...... sometimes... only the ones that mount in the trunk lid are available.. and depending on your year it may only fit a quarter turn off... fear not... take the new one and the old one to the lock smith... i am almost sure that you can pop the spring off the back and the cover off the front .. pull the plug out of the new one.. put it in the old housing. put the shutter and a new trim ring on... and you are back ...
lock smiths also sometimes stock the Uncoded locks......
post a year... i will post a part number that will get you a coded lock... or an uncoded lock in pieces.. that a locksmith has to assemble and insert new wafers...
oh.. and if you cannot the trunk open... don't mess up the lock.. take the back seat out... crawl through with a flash light and a 7/16 socket ... or reach through with 5 or 6 feet of extensions... unscrew the latch..

I've also found that in almost every case screaming obscenities at the broken key to be beneficial. It may not help open the stuck lock, but at least you will better.

here is a short list of trunk lock part numbers.. some are chrome .. some are black faced... that might be available at local parts stores...
if you check around.. you might also get a trunk lock and 2 door locks on the same key... as a 3 piece kit.. but just replacing the trunk lock.. will do..

Big automotive show where a lot of the new makes are displayed. Sat in a Rolls Royce at the show, man what a car. Also sat in a Lotus Elise not a car for anyone who is taller the 5'6". My ass is still cramped from that car...lol
