Need some help before I loose what little of my mind I have left. I have a 68 El Camino 396 th400 tranny. I have had the tranny rebuilt and the rear housing seal replaced twice. Doesn't leak at the shop, but as soon as I get her home and parked, yep, leaking again. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would try to take some good high rez picture of where it is leaking so you can show proof to your mechanic. For the leak I don't know why it would be leaking if you have had the seals replaced twice.

First thing to check is vent tube. It gets overlooked alot even on rebuild jobs

I second the vent tube check. I had to clear the one on my 700r4 several times to get it completely cleared out.

If he installed one of those cheap dipstick tube bushings that could be a source of your problem too. Their known for leaking

There is nothing wrong with the stock tubes and not much to cause problems. Clean'em up,install a new 0-ring and dont bend it

Are you refering to the output shaft seal leaking? If so, Have you checked the bushing behind the seal? If the bushing is worn out it would cause the seal to fail.
