Hi, I just picked up this small block to rebuild but I can't find the suffix code anywhere. The casting numbers on the back are 3970010. The numbers on the heads are 39271 85. But on the front pad I have V0402CLY. "What is CLY"
Thanks, Dan

I guess not, have you looked in any small block books to see if any of them have references to the CLY code?

you have a 350 4 bolt main probably out of some kind of heavy truck that no one kept track of. Do you have a cast crank or is forged? What are your valve sizes? What cam is in it?

I believe that “CLY” code is out of a car not a Truck. A truck suffix will start with a “T” or “F”.A car will start with a “C”.

1989 350 from a truck with tbi and 210hp.
Horsepower sells Engines and torque wins races.
