I have a 1968 chevy pickup that was painted in 2004.The other day a filled the tank up with fuel and parked it in the garage. I live on the Texas gulf coast and it has been 98 to 100 down here every day. Any way the fuel got too hot in the tank and began running out af the fuel cap and down the side of the cab under the fuel cap. The paint lifted like some one put some paint stripper on it. My Question is this.Once i repair the bad spot can i wet sand the rest of the truck and spray base and re clear. I was told to not sand thru to the base and it would be fine. The paint on the truck is Dupont nason from O-riley.

That nuts how your garage contributed to your truck boiling from the inside out.
