if you get sportsman II heads, get the XE 274 cam...matched a little better to those heads than the XE268

i have talked to a couple machine shop and engine builder guys around town and they are saying with my low compression and relitivly stock to mild combo the XE262 will be plenty of all around performance and still be streetable

i'm not sure how it'll react with a stock converter, I felt a 2500rpm converter would be good for my engine, however if he is considering going with Sportsman II heads, the XE 274 would probably be the best choice, but if he doesn't want to run that big of a cam because of his torque converter, then maybe he shouldn't consider those heads. anyways, if you are also concerned with compression, keep in mind you can always go with a head with smaller chambers. well...take is sleazy

Right....but some of us actually build em'   I guess I wasn't sure if you were a walker or a talker...

You are correct this is a great medium to theorize on what you may do some day.

The more info the better I always say.

Well I'm off to the garage to burn the midnight oil.

a walker i am, but a slow and small budgeted walker at that i wo uld rather post 500 threads and get the right cam or heads then read the replys on one and waste a couple hundred bucks on to big of a cam or ect ... once i get my job and my b-day is in a couple weeks the cash will start rolling in then i can pull the trigger on some parts and snap it all together more or less

Hey Tyler, I'm not trying to bust balls, I just thought you had the info you were looking for from previous cenversations.  Seriously this IS the place to decide because as you said it SUCKS to spend dough on something that isn't what you want.  Keep up the good work and doin't hesitate to run any ideas that come up across the people here.  We're all on the same team dude.  Hopefullty you can inspire a rice grinder to see the light when you roll up in your ride!!
