Reply to 69 Nova 355; I don't fool around much on the street but at the track with the Beretta I was a little out of the groove so I let off the throttle straightened it out and nailed the throttle again. This was at about 100mph. Hitting the tires, 17" slicks, like that when the chassis was unloaded was not the thing to do and it broke loose and made an immediate right turn. We were videoing the car from the start of the track and you could clearly see the right side door in the video. In the car it felt like I had a pretty good amount of time to correct but if you watch the video I snap it back to going straight in the blink of the eye. There was somebody videoing the races for a tape he was making and he said he watched that move 20 times.

I was involved in some antics on Highway 55 that involved my formula doing 540 degrees of rotation at around 100 mph. God kept me off the rail and everyone else around me. Ended up backing down the shoulder.... last time I horsed around in traffic, I still thank my luck stars I didn't hurt any one.

Eh, I'm still having fun. I do miss my RX7 road racer though. Fun car that was "street legal".

Yeah, my turbo RX wasn't much of a street car. The interior was completely gutted except 2 aluminum racing seats and a cage. Unmuffled exhaust, heim jointed suspension and stiff as Hades coil overs. Also the blow off valve was incredibly loud, so every time I downshifted it sounded like someone was dumping the air out of a compressor tank!
The car handled like a dream on the track, but the few times I terrorized the small town I was in the thing beat me to death and left my ears ringing for days. It was entertaining sliding sideways through some of the backstreets at 3am!
I do miss that car!
