I am looking for a rebuildable or already rebuilt 1969 DZ302 for my Z/28
I do not have the original motor it was lost somewhere in the last 40 years before I got the car, but I would like to return it to the era correct DZ engine. Any info or leads would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

the hardest part of building a DZ motor is finding a block... the second hardest part of finding a DZ is finding a crank...
the third hardest part of building a DZ ....... is paying for the DZ correct parts...
so.... instead of building a DZ since the numbers don't match anyway.... build a large journal 327... with the some camel hump heads... the heads.... nobody will be able to tell the difference ... and you will save GOBS of money... plus... you won't have to spend the HUGE almost DZ price for an 1182 crank... with proper selection.. you could even use 6 inch H beam rods and 350 pistons to save even more money... as 350 pistons are even cheeper than 327's and there is a better selection of them...
i would bet that there are several DZ blocks and cranks for sale over at hemmings.com... maybe even the one out of your car... they have them listed there by julian date, production codes and serial numbers ....
if fact ... why not drop in a 82 or 84 corvette crossfire 350... with the TBI... make is a real driver...
look over in one of the vette magazines... they have a great article on hopping up the crossfire to make some real numbers.... complete crossfire 5.7 motors are available cheep...
here is the link to the article

I have a complete standard bore DZ short block less the crank and oil pan. It has all the correct markings; DZ PAD stamp, Partial VIN and a big DZ in grease pen on the side of the block. If you are interested in all the details please email me and I will contact you with pics and all the info.
