i don't think the camaros should be a cheap car, like the mustang is. that's not the idea. maybe chevy didn't JUST make this camaro for the money but because the camaro is an icon pretty much. people who really care about the name will pay for it or not. and personally i don't mind the price because i don't want to see one every *** day. i want to be excited when i see one, old or new, not see it and keep looking. and what does the unions have to do with it???

I wasnt saying cheap made car. I was saying less expensive. The car doesnt have the value to match the sticker price.
I looked at an 08 Yukon Denali they wanted 61k for it thats insane!!!!!! Same with the new Camaro, 40k for a SS V-8 with a V-6 at 30k. Way too much money for the average American to spend on a weekend cruiser and only driven for 6 months of the year(it snows were i am). Not to mention GM filed for chapter 11. Why would anyone invest in a company that doesnt know how to manage itself?
Here's how the unions are ruining the auto industry:
How can a company sustain a sufficient amount of capital to operate properly if they pay 90% of a retired workers wage after they retire? Thats a complete loss of income right there. Thats not including what the company puts into the persons 401k, Union fees, health and life insurance premiums. The unions pushed for that. The unions also wanted a 38% share in GM for them to re-negotiate the terms between GM and the UAW workers. If the UAW had compromised just a little bit GM wouldnt have had to File chapter 11. But they wouldnt so GM filed and everyone got screwed. Especially the consumer!!!!

well the new camaro isn't the only expensive car in the market but no one's complaining about those. if they don't want to pay that much for a camaro fine, don't but don't hate the car just because it costs too much. and ford isn't asking the government for money because they're making plenty of it, because people have to pay them to have thier crappy ford fixed or replace a part. chevy's are built to last so they aren't making money off repairs and such!!! > . <

sadly, i'm going to have to agree... as far as cars go, i don't want anything new, its all so computerized that it's impossible to fix or work on on your own =( but still, i've never had a problem with a chevy

I like this quote from Chris Rock. " If they can build a space shuttle that can operate in outer space, Why cant they build a Cadillac so that the bumper doesnt fall off in 4 years?"
Thats how the business works. Automakers want you to have to pay for repairs. They make ALOT of cash to fix cars. Especially from the uninformed consumer that isnt mechanically inclined. Then they made everything computerized, so our hobby puts less of a dent in the automakers repair income.

the only major problem i've ever had with a chevy was with my diesel suburban.  the injector pump went out on me...but it had over 400K miles on it...

That's a pretty good run with out any problems. The problem that GM has right now is there Flex fuel option. Here is California you cant find E85 anywhere. I would rather see more vehicles with the option of diesel.

I only had major errors with my Ford Ranger. Alarm failure, speedometer failure and poor, poor mpg.

first of all the ss package is 32,000 not 40,000 only a couple more than a mustang and the camaro makes 125 more horse.the ls family of motors are some of the best and most advanced in the world. The LS9 in the zr1 makes more power(657hp) than any production ferrari and more than any lambourgini available in north america for a mere fraction(100,000) of the cost of those cars. so if your all about cheapness buy a *** ass rice burner and get your doors blown off by an LS camaro.

by the way i live in flint mi birthplace of GM and Chevrolet and the UAW (the sit down strike at fisher 1 was a 1/4 mile from where im typing this right now).I have had most of my family retire from chevy in the hole and buick city and i agree that the union has ruined this great company and now there are hardly any jobs left for my generation(24 years old)but i really hope they can make the right changes and once again produce the baddest cars on the planet and ill always be a chevy man 100%.nothing i hate more than some jerkoff complaining about the economy as he drives off in a toyota
