hey i was wondering what happened to the third gen camaros being displayed the chp mag. i am an owner of a third gen and i want to see how other guys and gals hop up their third gens. i see from time to time budget builds like improving the 305 and exhaust but c'mon i know like everybody else know one  cannot run with the big dogs with a lawnmower motor. i hope one day there's an edition dedicated to the third gens. i'm an eighties kid. i seen the 1st gen and 2nd gen and from time to time the 4th gen. the third gen is the forgotten hero. without the 3rd gen it wouldn't been a 4th or for that matter a 5th. 82-92 rule

Hey man, I am right there with you... I love 3rd gen camaros and there is a lot of potential with them. You need to check out the forums on thirdgen.org. It's a whole community of 3rd gen enthusiasts. Due to a change in circumstance I have to get rid of my 1990 RS with a 5spd, but it's a great car. If you want to go fast cheap, nothing beats a 3rd gen

I've been building my 1988 IROC using a treasure trove of past CHP issues and the 3rd Gen.Org website community.  ANYTHING you could ever want to replace, repair, upgrade,or re-engineer, is well covered by mature tech happy Camaro owners/members.

These early TPI computer GM systems are a complete pain to diagnose and take careful planning before upgrading.  I was able to design, and upgrade my entire 1988 IROC on paper by using the 3rd Gen website before busting my very first nuckle! Shoot; I even knew how many bandaids to line up that week!  They've actually divided up the entire 50 states into smaller forums to make it easier for get togethers or beer and pizza type of 'barn-raisings'.

When the last available 1969 Camaro crossing the Barret/Jackson auction block is forced to morph from a daily driver into a rich man's chia pet (at $100k+, leaving the middle class citizen locked out everything but the T-shirt & calandar) I think the 3rd Generation IROC's & Z28's will eventually be the series to rise up to take its place.  Are you aware that the 3rd rendition was the most aerodynamic shape out of each of the current 5 series? They actually sliced a better wind-tunnel spike than those 4th generation wanna-bea-jelly-bean GEO copynaughts. {just sum thoughts trotting across and out the other ear} Nitro-Nicky/Infinion Raceway SportStreet idiot savant
