I have an 81 Monte Carlo in which I just dropped in a 350 from a 72 el Camino. It has a 350 turbo transmission with a shift kit. There is a loud knocking when the car idles in Drive and Reverse. It sounds like the knocking is coming from in front of the flywheel. Any suggestions?

Does it do it in park.

Cracked flex plate is number one with this symptom.
