you just became my new best friend =) -lol- i know, i'm tired of people saying that the new camaros aren't worth it, and they'd rather buy a mustang, but it pisses me off that they're willing to switch thier loyalties for a price. it's one thing if you're a chevy+ford person in the first place, but when you say you "were" a hardcore chevy person who just bought a mustang, that's hypocricy at it's finest. i did the metaphor by the way, and the 60's will always be the best year for camaros... ^u^

Price had NOTHING to do with the purchase of my Shelby...as a matter of fact I have just over 20% more money in it than the Camero would have cost me. The fact is the new Camero design looks like a Caddy with some wild euro trash twist!!

I am a hard core chevy guy who at the age of 17 owned a '55, '56 and '57 chevy all 2 dr bel-air hardtop's and they still rest in my garage to this day...my first pick-up was a 1949 chevy 5 window custom cab who lives next to the bel-air's in my garage. I worked 3 jobs 7 days a week to buy those vehicles, WHY? because like some guys I am a true car guy who loves the beautiful lines of an automobile. I'm guy who is amazed at the workmanship of the vehicle and the long sleepless nights of the people who designed and engineered the vehicle..not on a computer CAD unit, but on paper with nothing more than a pencil and his brain!!

I can afford to buy crate engines for my racecars, but I like to build them myself like I did when I was a kid. There is no satisfaction in running someone else's engine even if you do run in the low 9's!

you see it has nothing to do with Chevy, Ford or chrysler.....it's the design of the vehicle and the love of the old school ways.

Dont ever let anyone piss you off, because NOBODY has the right to steal your joy!!

ok, but i'm just saying people should look at where thier loyalties lie. i keep hearing people saying chevy's a bad company cause' they're in the hole, so that's a reason they go by a ford, and the don't realize that THEYRE NOT HELPING!!! if they really cared about a company that's produced good (great) quality cars for HOW LONG???? then they should stick by it. i just think people should have a legitamate reason to buy a mustang... just because they like the car. not because they're mad at chevy.

thanx for the advice, i'll keep that at heart =)

I'm not mad at GM or a GM hater by any means, I do think they have made some very bad decissions in the past that hurt them deeply. That is not my fault or yours, so why should I buy a car from them I dont like? just spend 50K for thier charity benifit on a vehicle I dont like? I work hard for my money and when I get to the point where I can spend it on luxury item I spend it on something I really want. I give enough to other charities, Gm is not one of them. Maybe they need to take a look at the amount of money they pay the workers? line workers making 50 bucks and hour? How much you make an hour? ( I dont want to know just a question for yourself). I will catch crap for that question, but I dont care, another thing my dad always told me..Boy you can say anything you want as long as its the truth.

JimmyO I admire your values and dedication to the company, I know you like the new cameros and I would never try to take that away from you or change your mind about them. I see your side, now I just ask that you see my side and how I feel about the "CAR" not the company.

I hope you get a new camero, NEVER STOP CHASING THE DREAM!!!!

well, you should feel special cause' you're one of the few people i can halfway respect your opinion on this subject. i wasn't accusing you if that's how i came of by the way, but really the other jerks i've talked to before. of course i can understand not buying the car just because you don't like it, i love camaros, but i won't buy a 3rd or 4th gen simply because i don't like them. i get that. but it pisses me off to hear the stupid (and hypocritical) reasons for buying a mustang over the camaro.

glad to hear you bought a car you really love, no matter what it is, and it's nice to talk to someone who isn't a *** =)

me too ^u^

Mind if I give my two cents. I owned one on the first 67 SS cameros to come off the line and I loved it! I used to go looking for mustangs soz I could eat them for lunch! I had some trouble with the 69 Mach 1 though. I raced, rallyed, and autocrossed that car and haven't had as much fun since!

This from a 64 year old fart who still likes to get it on!
