I have a 1994 Chevrolet K1500 Z71 and I'm looking to ramp up the performance, but 15 years of work and play have taken it's toll on the truck. I'm 18 years old and this is my first truck, and, quite frankly, I'm attached to it. I have two options; sell it and spring for a new truck, or keep what i have and rebuild everything i can. If i go with the latter option, the first thing i would do is overbore the engine, but I'm not sure how much of an overbore i need, and if my engine can take it. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Most likely there will be enough of a taper to require a .030" overbore. This is normal (as someone else stated). A .060" over is possible, and some even go .070" or .080" for STOCK rebuilds, but this is fairly risky.

I appreciate the input! Thank you!. I figure .030 is all i will go for, so with that bore in mind, how much would this cost?

I figure the boring, honing, other necessary prep, cleaning, and checking to be around $150 or $175.
