Now i am not really understanding why people like the chevy nova. I do understand they did have some models that were ok..but only the ones with the big blocks like the ss 396..the power was there..i did ride in one and it was scary fast..the problem i have is, I think the nova was an ugly car..and it also came in the dog tracking 4 door..yuck!..I never seen a nova goin down the road in a straight line unless rebuilt or new, these cars drove sideways..for some reason. The worst thing Iv seen is a 4 door 6cyl Nova with a jacked up rear and 60 series tires on the back goin down the hyway sideways (dogtracking)..mabe that was why i never liked them.

Gee Poney, thanks heaps for your opinions, we really appreciate them.  To assist you with your quandry I propose that generally, people buy Nova's because they like them and want one.

My recommendation to you would be; Don't buy a Nova.

I suggest you check out James Brown's (from the NFL today) 66 Nova in the April 09 issue. If you don't like that then there is something wrong with you!

After I got back up off the floor after reading your post I realized what the problem must be. You must think your on a Ford forum. No...this is a Chevy forum, populated by people who love Chevys. Taste is a personal thing. Do you like 60's Camaros; do they all "dogtrack"? They share virtually an identicle chasis to a 68-74 nova. If your looking for support of your hate of Novas, dude, your in the wrong place. Sorry if I'm kinda harsh, but I like Novas. Maybe not my first choice, but I wouldn't throw one out of the garage!

The Chevy Nova (1968-1972) is the "DIAMOND" in the rough!!!! It is ok for us to disagree, because I most certainly disagree with you on this! The Chevy NOVA (1962-1972) is without a doubt one of the most sexiest car GM ever built along with the Camaro (1967-1969). The cars are not perfect by any means, but then again none of us are! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, what are you holding???? The classic lines, the stance, the rumble of the engine, that big toothy grin on the owner, the way they leave you & your comments in the dust is simply.......MARVELOUS!!!!!!! Thanks!

Well well, opinions are like sphincters.  Everyone has one, just some stink more than others.

people also like em cause they are small and that along with a performance motor makes them very fast.i dont see where that is to hard to figure out.with the uni-body and enough power you can twist them hence some appear to dogtrack but if the frame is properly tied its not a problem

novas are the sh*t, small body with adding a big inch motor and go fast.

Well I guess everybody has an opinion and we all know the old saying.
To assume every Nova goes down the road sideways because you saw one riding that way is a real dumb assumption.
You have the right to not like anything you please but I imagine you drive one of those ugly Japanese cars that to me look like they were designed in nightmares.

Prime example of a kick ass 4 door is the G8. Man I love that car.
