ok i have been thinking and i want to put cranes version of the corvette L-88 cam in my 396 my question is will my compression ratio work with this cam it is 10.6.1 let me kno asap thanx a lot.

It will surely work but it will be plenty of cam. It should meet the "minimum" compression "rules" found in the Comp catalog, but that doesn't mean a whole lot...
As long as your idle and transition circuits in your carb are set well and you have a vacuum advance this can help band-aid some low-end loss but otherwise I think it should be fine.

Good luck getting a cam from Crane, you'll be better off getting Comp's version.

Some of Crane's grinds are known to be a bit outdated and weak on "intensity," I don't think that automatically makes them unusable, but their cheaper grinds probably can't compete outright power-wise with a more modern Comp grind.

with todays technology,why would you throw that cam in your motor? that cam was great in its day,30-40 yrs ago.take advantage of todays tech and throw in something up to date that has similar specs.call comp cams and see what they would recommend for your combo.
