i've been reading chevy hp for a long time, and i'm a diehard nova fan. i've got a 74 nova hatchback right now. i know it's not the most sought after gen, but i like the hatchback. i've been in the process of restoration and have completed the underside (rear end, supsension, steering) and am planning on going with a 383 w/ a 700r4. i'm going to be getting about 400hp, 420tq (it will be a daily driver), and i'm just looking for some good ol' advice from some fellow enthusiasts. all wisdom, experience, and pointers are welcomed with open arms here.

Subframe connectors will be a great investment for this project.

thanks for the heads up. i did a little research on subframe connectors and even 4 link kits. with the hp and tq that i'm going to have, i think i'll be fine with just a bolt on 4 link. what do you think? do you think i should go with a 4 link, or just go with leafs?

i would go with the leafs and cal trac bars they are a lot cheaper than the 4 link kits out there

do u already have the 700r4? if u dont u could go with a 200r4 , their real tough when build correct 1000+ hp supposably by art carr , i think the article said that the 700r4 is only really good up to 500hp or so witch aint bad at all.
just something to think about if u ever plan on gettin that 383 beef'd out

A track car would be different, but a driver would probably be fine as is. The four link would be overkill. The connectors are not a bad idea, but some traction bars may do the trick.

drivetrain isn't set in stone yet. a buddy of mine is in a TA forum and knows someone who has a 406 short block for 800. he says it's in great shape, but i'm going to go inspect this weekend. i'm still feeling the 383 cuz there's just something classic about it. it may be outdated these days as far as strokers go but i like'em. i'm gonna be pushin about 450 with the 383 i'm lookin at, and the 700r4 i'm watchin is good for 575hp. thanks for all of your input, and if you have any thing else, i'm all ears open wide!

do your research on the 700 , the valve body's changed as they improved over the years.
as for the 200r4 iv been reading up on it and it has a load of improvements since they go into 9 sec grand nationals .
