Can i use the serpenitne from a 305 on my 350? I know that they use different waterpumps but will it cause me problems with the car? btw its going in a 68 caprice.

Check to see if the heads on the 350 have all the accesory holes. The 305 has three accesory bolt holes on each head to mount the brackets.
Use the water pump that was on the 305, the pumps are virtually the same and rotate in the same direction. Plus the 305 pump matches the spacing you need to mount the system. If its not aligned right the belt will slip off. Unless you have an LT-1 or LS series engine you shouldnt have any issues.
