I want to paint the plastic(not vynil) dash on my 95 cheyenne. Any tips on getting this done properly?  Does anyone know of a good auto body work forum anywhere?

If it's a plastic dash then you should have no problem doing it.  The hardest part would be scuffing the textured surface (if it's even textured).  Dupont makes good products for plastic painting.  First you scuff it with 400 grit if you want primer or 600 grit if you want to go straight to paint.  I would recommend primer.  It will allow for better adhesion and build up a bit more mil thickness so your paint doesn't chip quite so easily.  It also makes your paint cover better and look nicer.  Also when you spray onto bare plastic the product eats in and causes these little burr type things to form.  They are a pain in the butt and you have to sand them out.  If you have a deep texture in the plastic this step may cause a little problem for you.  You will then need to reprime anywhere you broke through to bare plastic.  Then it's ready to paint like any other body panel.  Sealer/Base/Clear.  OR Sealer/Color if you are using single stage paint.  Good luck and let me know if you need any more information.
