I ran a 1972 front bumper on my 1973 Nova and had to change the brackets, filler panel, grill and headlight rings. I did this because it was lighter. It will probably be cheaper for you to just buy a new 1973 bumper. Plus you would keep the rare 73-74 look. There are many bumper rechrome sites. try this site http://www.bumperboyz.com/main.htm

HELLO. Having owned a 73 & 74 NOVA there is a major diffrence to look out for. The 73's front bumper bracket was a solid piece of formed steel. The 74's bracket had the hydralic shock setup. This was mandated by the GOVERNMENT as part of the 5mph safer bumper mess. The bumpers are/look the same but the mounting brackets are very diffrent. The 73 system is quite a bit lighter than the 74. The 73 will work on a 74 but the subframe mounts have to be redrilled to match the solid bracket.
HOPE THIS HELPS
